În ceea ce privește așa-numita „listă neagră” a celebrităților cărora nu li se permite accesul la decernarea premiilor Oscar, de anul trecut aceasta s-a mai mărit cu un nume: Will Smith care s-a ales cu o interdicție de 10 ani, după ce, în 2022, i-a dat o palmă prezentatorului Chris Rock, chiar în timpul galei, pentru că acesta și-a permis să glumească pe seama soției lui Will. O interdicție dublă ca timp – care însă, între timp, a expirat – a fost cea primită de Richard Gere. 20 de ani nu a mai avut permisiunea să participe la decernarea premiilor Oscar din cauza discursului său anti-China de la gala din 1993.
Alte interdicții:
- actorul Carmain Caridi, actorul din „Nașul 2”, interdicție pe viață începând cu 2004 pentru că a fost prins că distribuia ilegal copii ale filmelor pe care le primea la jurizare, înainte de lansarea lor oficială.
- actorii Harvey Weinstein și Bill Cosby au primit interdicție pe viață după ce au fost acuzați de agresiune sexuală.
- regizorul Roman Polanski, exclus total din Academie în 2018, pentru că a fost acuzat că a violat o fată de 13 ani.
